Episode 75: Death Mark

Almost halfway through July and we’re enjoying a celebration of spookiness. Featured on the show tonight was the horror/mystery/visual novel Spirit Hunter: Death Mark.

With interesting character design, a pretty/scary art style, a minimal but memorable soundtrack, and some jumps from time to time, I enjoyed my experience with this one. There’s a few moments of totally out of place fan service, probably because anime, but I think it can be overlooked. Recommended if you are a fan of anime-style horror and Phoenix Wright-style investigation and “combat”.

After the Death Mark feature, we put on a spotlight for an older compilation album from 2019. The Great Tale of the Little Ones, Vol. 2. It’s an outstanding collaboration of a bunch of artists expressing their love for indie games released between 2016 and 2019. Available totally free, I highly recommend checking out their site! It’s jam-packed with free covers/remixes of game tracks.
