Episode 50: Donkey Kong Country/ChipWIN

Hello hello once again! We are keeping with this habit of actually posting playlists (kinda) on time. This week marked our 50th episode on air, and with it came the introduction of a legend. The Super Nintendo holds a dear place in many peoples’ hearts for having some of the most iconic (typically?) childhood games out there that continue to impress in this modern era. Super Metroid, Super Mario Bros World, Final Fantasy VI, Starfox, Super Punch-Out, and of course the big man himself on his most memorable adventure of all: Donkey Kong Country. Along with a soundtrack as well-respected as the gameplay, this is a Nintendo title that set the bar entirely too high and continues to teach younger game designers how to do the side-scrolling platformer genre right.
